Holiday Gift Guide: Charities and Nonprofits

December 21st, 2012 | Blog

The holidays, for me, are a mix of indulgences as well as giving back. It’s important that I stay true to causes, so I’ve listed a few nonprofits that I really believe in. It doesn’t take a lot to change someone’s life, so give what you can and know that you’ve made a substantial impact.

“A Song For Lily-Mae” is a really captivating cause. Not only is the face for this cause a charming little girl, but this cause also helps raise awareness and fund a cure for neuroblastoma. The song “Tiny Dancer” was recorded by nearly 300 people and is supported by Elton Jon himself.

Staten Strong  aids Staten Island’s recovery from Sandy. This is a great gift because you get a “Staten Strong” shirt and you’re also donating to a charity.

Foodbank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties provides food to those on the Jersey Shore. I’m sure you all know by now how badly New Jersey was affected by Hurricane Sandy. It’s great to support this cause, especially during the holidays. People are still without homes and having difficulty.

The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund this is the official governor’s charity site and you can donate to help the state of New Jersey.
