First, let me say how cool, wonderful, and classy your new site is, Jason. Well done!
Second, doing my site allowed me to know – just a little – who this fantastic gentleman/actor Jason O’Mara is.
JasonOMara.net began some nine years ago, way back late in November, 2002. I was in my office, working (lol), trying to decide whether to watch Robbery Homicide Division or The Agency. I believe it was the episode “Heartless” running that night. The Agency won due to my affinity for spy stuff. Then there was Jason O’Mara bringing A. B. Stiles to life. Certainly not hard to look at! And I’ve been a Jason O’Mara fan ever since.
Fast forward a few months and I found myself with time to play. Somewhere along the line I connected with Janet. She started the JasonOMara.com site and I started JOMonline.com, much to my husband’s puzzlement. I later added the redirect JasonOMara.net – soon to become the primary domain. A website teacher/friend helped me set things up; my daughter and I took website design classes. Later on, there was the conversion to stylesheets. Ack! What a process. If not for my daughter, I’d have probably given up! Seriously.
From the beginning, never to do things halfway, I searched the internet regularly for Jason’s projects. The Royal Shakespeare Theatre gave permission to use their online photos. I rummaged around online and found copies of most of the plays. I ordered several Region 1 shows on DVD and VHS tape and had them converted to Region 2. I watched hours of footage looking for Jason’s appearances. And getting hooked on the shows in the process!
I screen-capped everything I could, transcribed many. My goal always was to promote Jason’s career, get him out there, add to the whole picture of Jason – this fantastic actor. It was easy to work on filling in the past projects until In Justice and lastly, Life On Mars aired. I was never able to complete them, or the site in general, to my satisfaction. Sigh.
About five years into the site, Jason contacted me. In one of his rare email exchanges, one thing mentioned was that eventually he would be wanting the website domains. Much later in another email exchange he offered to do a short Q&A. Yays to that!
Janet (of JasonOMara.com) and I conversed by email regularly. (And still do!) Janet came to a place where she turned her .com over to me and I incorporated it into my site. I then came to that same place. I could no longer devote resources to the site. I took a shot at contacting Jason and we arranged the transfer.
Jason, it’s been a pleasure to do what I could to let the folks know about the best kept secret in the business. You are a great guy and a fantastic, multi-faceted actor. This, all this, is long overdue. Can you say Steven Spielberg! Here’s to your future, in family and career!

[I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tara for creating my first ever fansite. I am also particularly grateful to Shellen for the amount of work that she put into the encyclopedic .net site and for facilitating the domain transfer. Thank you both - Jason]
